Animal Reiki

What is Reiki? The word Reiki originates from two Japanese words - Rei which means “Universal or Miraculous” and Ki which is “life force energy.” In Eastern philosophy Ki (also spelled Chi or Qi) is the power which animates all things bringing balance, wellness and happiness.

Reiki is a non-invasive, complementary and alternative healing practice which promotes overall health and well-being.

Reiki has been around for thousands of years. Its current form was developed by  Mikao Usui. The practice spread to the U.S. through Hawaii in the 1940s, and then to Europe in the 1980s.  It is the practice of healing energy flow.

Energy healing targets the energy fields around the body.  Energy can stagnate in the body where there has been physical injury or possibly emotional pain.   In time, these energy blocks can cause illness.  Energy healing aims to help the flow of energy and remove blocks in a similar way to acupuncture or acupressure.  

I am a Certified Animal Reiki Master Teacher.  Working with animals and practicing Reiki are my passions.  Animals are highly intuitive and sensitive to the energies of their surroundings. Reiki is  energy  healing that can be used alone or as a complement to traditional veterinary practices, balancing the energy patterns and strengthening the animal's natural healing systems. When the animal's healing are at optimum performance, the body, mind and spirit can heal itself.  

Yes!  Reiki is the universal life source energy.  Reiki goes to where it is needed and does not need to be done in person.  A Reiki session can be done over distance and virtually. All Reiki sessions are currently done virtually.

Reiki is not a substitute for taking your pet to your veterinarian.  As a Reiki practitioner, I do not diagnose animal illness, injury or disease, and I do not prescribe medication.  I am not a veterinarian, I am not trained in veterinary medicine.  If your pet needs immediate medical assistance you should immediately seek veterinary care for your animal to diagnose and to provide necessary medical treatment.
